SYL’s new Climate Network has been selected

The members of the National Union of University Students in Finland’s (SYL) Climate Network for the 2025–2026 term have been selected. The objective of the Climate Network is to develop the climate action by SYL and student unions and to strengthen the role of students in the work against the climate crisis. The Climate Network consists of actors in the student unions who brainstorm and develop the climate impacts of the student movement, participate in climate action as an advisory body and support the board in climate action.

Sara Taskila was elected chair of the Climate Network.

“It is wonderful to be able to introduce students to societal issues, as together, student unions can be an important voice for science and future makers in the climate debate. Student unions are involved in ensuring that the transition towards a more sustainable tomorrow takes place in a fair manner and on the basis of science, and that universities are aware of their role as builders of answers. We have plenty of enthusiasm and expertise, and the network strives to ensure that students can encounter climate and sustainability issues now and in the future. The network learns, teaches and participates,” Taskila states.
