Press release 19 November 2021
For immediate release
Konstantin Kouzmitchev, 24, from the Aalto University Student Union, has been elected President of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL). The newly elected President wants to emphasise election lobbying and highlighting a stronger and fairer generation policy in SYL’s work in 2022. “In future, we must continue to emphasise themes related to generation policy. The student movement must demand that decision-makers take ambitious action for the climate, invest in the mental health of young people, and make sustainable decisions on economic policy. This way we can make sure that we will still have a healthy society to leave to future generations ,” Kouzmitchev states.
The General Assembly of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL), which represents the approximately 130,000 students in Finnish universities, will be held at Hotel Korpilampi in Espoo on 19–20 November 2021. The General Assembly will also make decisions on next year’s Plan of Work and SYL’s finances.
