SYL’s parliamentary election programme has been published

The parliamentary election programme 2023 of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) has been published. Students are the builders of Finland’s future, and that’s why the program aims to invest in strengthening students’ resilience now and in the future. For this, SYL presents the student movement’s solutions for the next election term in its programme.

SYL’s parliamentary election programme was prepared in collaboration with the student unions of all Finnish universities. The programme’s themes are about students, education, and society. In the programme, SYL proposes, among other things, that the universities’ funding model should be provided with an indicator that measures the well-being of the community, that a drop-out package should be created to prevent dropouts from universities and that a protected income for students should be strengthened.

‘The parliamentary election programme for the National Union of University Students contributes to a better future. We aim far and demand solutions for the challenges we face in the 2030s and beyond. Let’s ensure better sustainability in the future at both the individual level and nationally and internationally’, says Konstantin Kouzmitchev, the President of National Union of University Students in Finland.

You can read the programme in Finnish here and in Swedish here. Unfortunately, the programme is not available in English.
